We are the leading
superyacht consultants
Superyachts are complex, floating communities. Buying, building - and even just owning - one is far from straightforward. They are also the focus of tax and safety inspections, and subject to numerous legal jurisdictions. With the help of matrixLloyd™'s knowledge and experience (both practical and legal) the process of buying, building and owning a superyacht becomes effortless.
And with mistakes being avoided, we don't just save our clients headaches - we help them save money, too.
The right time to approach us is when you're considering buying or building.
Speak to us. Share your dreams with us.
We're not a brokerage. We are completely independent from any yard or yacht, insurance or finance brokerage. We aren't chasing the next sale. In fact, we're not in the business of selling at all.
matrixLloyd™'s experienced consultants are engaged on a project-by-project basis directed and supervised by Benjamin Maltby.
We are trusted.
We are authoritative.

Benjamin Maltby
LLB (Hons) PDML, of the Inner Temple, Barrister
Principal Consultant

Having attended St Edwards, Oxford, as a
scholar, Benjamin gained his qualifying law degree in the United Kingdom, before being called to the Bar of England & Wales by the Inner Temple. He spent a number of years working as a lawyer at the Head Offices of an International Group P&I Club, in the City of London, providing legal advice to ship owners and charterers, and instructing and supervising maritime lawyers worldwide.
This foundation was later built upon through some years spent working in Cyprus for the largest law firm in the region, advising on insurance, yachting and private wealth management. Most notably, he was responsible for the re-establishment in Cyprus - the world's largest shipmanagement centre - of the Lloyd's of London insurance market, following Cyprus's entry into the European Union. While in Cyprus, Benjamin was also involved in the management of the world's largest fleet of yachts in single, private ownership. Drawing together all his skills and experience, he established the matrixLloyd™ superyacht consultancy in 2006.

Benjamin is an accomplished yachting columnist and speaker. For many years, he has written regular legal articles for
Boat International magazine, the sector's journal of record for over a quarter of a century. He holds an International Certificate of Competence for yachts up to 24 metres in length, and has traveled extensively throughout Europe on his own motor yacht. Benjamin is a non-practicing barrister.
