Technical Management

Safety First

It is vital that all the complex technical management aspects of yacht ownership are placed in safe hands.

Most importantly, a poorly maintained yacht is an unsafe yacht, and to go to sea in an unsafe yacht is to gamble with the lives of the guests and crew.

Maintaining Schedules

Any yacht is at risk of detention and ultimately forfeiture by port officials whose job it is to inspect yachts for their compliance with rigid standards.

Maintaining Value

A yacht with a poor maintenance record will depreciate far faster than one which has received the proper level of care and attention, with the right documents to prove it.

Maintaining Cover

Finally, a yacht with technical deficiencies is usually an uninsured yacht: even if insurance has been purchased, the yacht is likely to be off-cover whilst such deficiencies remain.

- Checking that all the ship’s papers are present on board and in order; and

- Negotiating and placing of tenders with suppliers and yards.
